It's Business Time! with Flight Of The Conchords...

Time for something light hearted. For the uninitiated, The Flight Of The Conchords are a New Zealand comedy music duo, featuring multi-instrumentalists Brett Sinclair and Jermaine Clement.

They originally gave themselves the billing "New Zealand's fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo";  however, now apparently they refer to themselves as "the almost award-winning fourth-most-popular folk duo in New Zealand". I expect that’s to do with all the awards and Grammy nominations...

The first TV series, which aired on the HBO channel in America in 2007, is brilliant. It portrays Brett and Jermaine as struggling musicians, trying to break onto the New York music scene with the help, or often lack thereof, of their manager Murray (Rhys Darby), and their one and only super fan, Mel, (Kristen Schaal). An array of terrible gigs and failed love interests ensue. The second series is more of the same, but generally less appealing. Better new material can be found on the ‘Live in London’ double album that appeared in 2018.

Anyway - this is an old, live performance of the song ‘Business Time’ which ultimately appeared in the first series, and on their first album, of which I’m sure I’ll be looking to share more of you with in the future. Hope you've had a good weekend!
